Each year, the foundation bestows a range of scholarships and awards to recognise the achievements of bright, deserving students of good character and conduct, who participate actively in co-curricular activities, and to support them in reaching their full potential. We encourage our scholars to contribute to their community and to maintain links with their alma mater and the foundation.
The foundation also awards bursaries to deserving students through various charities such as The Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday Memorial Scholarship Fund Board (better known as LBKM) and Eurasian Association.

METHODIST GIRLS’ SCHOOL
- Puan Sri Helene Tan Chin Tuan Scholarship
- The scholarship was named after Puan Sri Helene Tan (1907-1995), wife of Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan, who was educated at Methodist Girls’ School (MGS). Between 1948 and 1963, Puan Sri Helene Tan’s many senior appointments in voluntary organisations led her to become known as one of Singapore’s most active charity workers. In 1951, she became President of the MGS Alumnae Association. In 1998, Tan Sri Tan created a scholarship for MGS students in his late wife’s name to commemorate her dedication to her family and society. Read more here.
