Field Trip to Hort Park (in partnership with ACTs of Life)

25 Apr 2018

In line with our Signature Programme, More Than Words theme this year, “I Can…Care, Create and Contribute!” 30 lower primary children from PPIS (Bedok) explored the herbs, flora and fauna at HortPark on 23 March 2018 to learn how they can contribute to the environment.

This excursion was organised in partnership with our long-time partner, ACTS of Life, where they re-enacted the story of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” through different activity stations throughout their walk in the gardening park. “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” created an immersive experience for the children as they visualised Peter Rabbit running in the garden.

In the second segment, the children imagined they were botanists. They learnt about the important role of plants in the environment. Then, they planted seeds in a little cup and illustrated what their plants would look like if it was the last of its kind in the world. They even wrote about their imagined plants and how it would help the world’s environment. We would like to thank ACTS of Life for partnering us to bring this field trip to life!
